Regardless of what project you are working on, if you play some music, your work will be more comfortable. Unfortunately, some applications can drain a computer's resources, which means that you will have to close all non-essential programs, including the media player. If you can not work well without some noise in the background and you can not spare too many resources, you should try M-Player. Thanks to its simple design, you can play your audio tracks without impacting your computer's performance.

The player is free and you only need to download and run a 536 Kb setup kit to install it. The process is fast, so you will be able to use the program in a few seconds. It is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Win 7.

The interface consists of a large playlist, where you can add your audio files by dragging and dropping them over the interface or with the options above the list. Besides the names of the files, the playlist contains other information, regarding the artist, album and genre. You can save the playlist as a file on your hard drive and load it at a later time. Once you double click a file, it will start playing and additional options, like Stop, Pause, Previous or Next, will be available on the upper part of the interface.

The software's media library can be displayed, instead of the playlist, by clicking a navigation tab. The artists, albums and the tracks themselves are displayed in separate lists. If you want to find your favorite songs, you need to select the artist and the album, in this order. Alternatively, you can use the search function which is available in the media library. Music can be added to the library with a library generator. Its options will show up on a different window, where you need to select your music folder. Any audio files in that folder or its sub-folders will be added to the media library and sorted automatically.

Pros

M-Player does not slow you down with complex options and advanced graphics. The interface has a simple design and it contains strictly what you need to play your music. Besides the fact that it is easier to use this way, the software will use less memory as well.

Cons

The playlist could have used a search function as well. If you want to listen to your favorite music and nothing else, M-Player is exactly what you need. You can load your audio tracks and play them immediately and the software's additional functions will help you organize them.
